Tony Upton and his family have been supported by Home-Start HOST for a number of years now, but that support is drawing to a close. As a very generous gesture, Tony will be running the Yorkshire Marathon and hoping to raise £250 for HOST. Keep reading to find out why in Tony’s own words.
*Update* Tony completed the Yorkshire Marathon in 3 hours 39 minutes and reached his target of £250! You can still donate using the link at the top of the page to help other families just like Tony’s.
“I am running the Yorkshire Marathon on the 11th October 2015, this is my first ever marathon and a personal challenge as well as an opportunity to fund-raise for Home-Start HOST who have provided support to our family over the past few years.
“In November 2012, my wife Claire, daughter Isla (2) and I were blessed with the birth of twins Lucas and Mia. The subsequent years have flown by and we have been lucky with all the support from our families and friends. We also really benefitted from weekly visits from a Home-Start HOST volunteer, Pam, who immediately made an impact with practical support and advice which has enabled us to spend quality time with our children. Every week we value Pam’s home visits and she has quickly become a family friend.
“We are grateful for the support that we have received and I hope that any money I can raise will enable other families to benefit from the great work that Home-Start HOST provide.” – Tony
