Home-Start Oldham, Stockport & Tameside staff and volunteers have completed a two day training course to raise awareness around Autism and ADHD.
The training sessions took place across Wednesday and Thursday this week at our Head Office at Ryecroft Hall.
One of our Family Support Co-ordinators said,
“As part of the training, we looked at Autism and ADHD from a different perspective. One of the trainers is Autistic himself so is able to relay how he relates to the world from his own experiences.
I feel that as a result of the training I have more understanding about both conditions and I will be able to show families more empathy and understand the challenges they are faced with.”
It is important to HOST that we give our staff and volunteers access to high quality training so we can to ensure they are fully equipped practically and emotionally to support children, their parents and carers.
