Could you help to give children in your community a better start in life?
Without our volunteers, we simply couldn’t provide vital support to so many local families.
Volunteering for HOST is so rewarding, I think the volunteers get more out of the experience than the families themselves.June, Volunteer
Why volunteer for Home-Start?
• Provide practical and emotional support to parents and children in your local community.
• Receive free training, learn new skills.
• Use your experiences to help families in need of support and help shape a child’s life.
You can choose to volunteer with our Home-Visiting Family Support service, providing weekly support visits to a local family, or train as a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter, giving valuable support and advice to mums on their breastfeeding journey.
Whichever route you choose, you’ll receive full training and support from the moment you enroll and throughout your volunteering with us.
What qualities and skills do I need to volunteer with HOST?
We are looking for people who are parents themselves or have parenting experience to be able to provide families with peer support.
We are looking for friendly, approachable people who will respect the needs of families and provide a confidential support service.
