‘Dad Matters’ is a Greater Manchester wide project. We aim to support dads, primarily antenatally, with attachment, mental health and access to services, in partnership with maternity and health visiting services and early years support services.
We aim to develop and facilitate dads peer support groups at antenatal clinics and classes, and to develop outreach mechanisms for antenatal services so dads can access information, support and contacts. We also aim to increase dad’s knowledge of services, points of access and their own role within those processes.
We also advocate for dads within services, create online conversations for dads, share relevant and correct information through social media and our website, and provide training for professionals around including Dads in their support.
