“This training made me reflect on my own upbringing and how I can support families who may be struggling.” – PIMH volunteer
A Collaborative Approach to Supporting Families
This volunteer training was co-developed by HOST, Tameside’s Early Attachment Service, and Health Visiting in Tameside. Since its launch, the training has expanded across Oldham, Tameside, and Bolton, with over 520 attendees gaining essential skills in supporting families around parent-infant mental health.
The PIMH training is a four-week journey into the world of parent-infant mental health, exploring how early experiences shape a child’s future development and well-being. Each session offers fresh insights, helping attendees understand the lasting impact of those first relationships and how to provide meaningful support to families. The course creates a nurturing and reflective space where participants connect, share experiences, and grow together.
