Baby Bank

Home-Start HOST’s Baby Bank (formally known as Cascade Baby Bundles), is committed to supporting families in financial hardship across Greater Manchester by providing clothing for babies and children up to 10 years old, and essential items such as toiletries.  Last year we packed and distributed 5,355 essential items to families.

Cascade was founded by Lynne McMylor and became a trusted resource for colleagues across Greater Manchester.  Following Lynne’s retirement in 2023, Home-Start HOST took on the running of this vital service..  Together, we are committed to supporting growing families and ensuring that every child has access to the essentials they deserve.

We accept referrals from professionals working with families, including health-care, social work or charities or community organisations.  Our Baby Bank service covers all boroughs of Greater Manchester.

Referrals must include your organisational email address.  You’ll receive a confirmation message that your referral has been received, and we will then contact you by email when your items are ready to collect.  Please note we are not able to liaise with parents directly, and you or a colleague will need to cellect the items when ready.

We do triage referrals by urgency, so for example referrals made for an unborn baby will be processed nearer to the due date supplied.

• Bottles
• Bottle Sterilisers
• Highchairs
• Baby baths
• Newborn prams/travel systems (no car seats please)
• Cots/cot-beds (no mattresses)

Please note we can’t currently accept the following:

• Summer clothing
• School uniform
• ‘Next-to-me’ cribs
• Cuddly toys
• Toys
