Volunteer with Home-Start
With just a couple of hours a week, you can help transform the lives of families in your community.
Volunteers are at the heart of Home-Start. The time you gift to volunteer makes a genuine difference and has a lasting impact on families and children.
We offer various volunteering options from supporting parents in the home to helping in our charity shop. Whether you have a few hours each week, a month, regularly or ad-hoc, we have something for you.

What our volunteers say…
Volunteering for HOST is so rewarding, I think the volunteers get more out of the experience than the families themselves.
Parenting is amazing but it’s also really lonely. I’ve had experience of being a parent myself and I thought I could that experience to help another family”.
I love seeing Mum’s confidence grow every week and I really enjoy playing with the children and seeing them happy
I was a single parent so feel like I have lots of experience; I struggled with finances and loneliness when my child was little. I became a volunteer for HOST as I feel that I have plenty to give to others. I wish I’d known about Home-Start when I was struggling on my own because it’s good to talk to someone.

They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel. I can’t remember what my HOST volunteer said but I do remember how she made me feel. That’s what I hold with my whenever I support a Mum now I’m a volunteer for HOST. Volunteering makes me feel ace!
